$275 (ASPIRING TRTA MEMBERS) AND $245 (TRTA MEMBERS)
The Tahoe Rim Trail Association is hosting a two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course taught by NOLS Wilderness Medicine (NOLS WM). This course provides individuals with a foundation in important first aid concepts critical to responding effectively to emergencies in a remote backcountry environment.
This fast paced, hands-on training prepares you for the unexpected and is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations. You will be introduced to caring for people who become ill or injured far from definitive medical care. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients challenges you to integrate your learning. At the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge, skills and ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Taught by seasoned NOLS instructors in a two day format, this WFA course will finish in just one weekend. Learning takes place both in the classroom and in outdoor settings regardless of weather conditions. Come prepared for wet, muddy, cold or hot environments.
This course may be used to recertify WFR-R, Hybrid WFR-R. See below for more information.
