Snapshot Day is a citizen science water quality monitoring event that takes place every May with the goal of connecting the community with its watershed.
Volunteers fan out across the Truckee River Watershed to take water samples from creeks, streams and smaller lakes, as well as Lake Tahoe itself, to get a snapshot at one moment in time of the water quality of the Tahoe-Truckee watershed. Snapshot Day will be held on Saturday, May 15 for all regions.
The South Lake Tahoe region is still looking for Team Leaders and Team Members! No experience necessary, all ages welcome. If you’d like to participate in Snapshot Day 2021, complete this interest form and receive updates: bit.ly/ssd-2021
For safety, volunteering as a family unit or “pod” is preferred.
