Echo Summit Frontcountry Camp August 30 – September 2
South Lake Tahoe, CA
Posted By: Tahoe Rim Trail
Details
This camp will continue a large project to relocate more than a mile of the PCT/TRT above Highway 50 at Echo Summit. During this camp we’ll primarily be building new tread which involves clearing brush, digging roots, moving dirt, and constructing stone cribbing and retaining walls.
What to Expect
This is a trail crew Frontcountry Camp, and requires camping near a trailhead with access to personal vehicles including campers and RVs. Cell phone reception is spotty or non-existent at this site, but is available a short walk or drive away. There is no access to running water but we will have electricity. Meals will be prepared by volunteer camp chefs. This camp is rated Least Strenuous, though the trailwork itself is still physically challenging.
