Local youth celebrate Earth Day with art!

The Sierra State Parks Foundation hosted a virtual art contest for the 50th Earth Day celebration this past April as a way to bring our community together during this period of social isolation. It was met with enthusiastic response, receiving 65 submissions from all ages. The art exhibit is organized by age, starting with the winner of each division. The Foundation has partnered with Boatworks at Lake Tahoe in Tahoe City to create a fabulous exhibit of the artwork on the 2nd floor featuring the work of all entrants. “We are grateful for the overwhelming number of entries we received and the passion behind each drawing for the protection of the environment,” said SSPF Executive Director Heidi Doyle. The California State Parks Foundation generously provided project funding. The art exhibit will be available for viewing during normal business hours through September. Boatworks at Lake Tahoe is located at 760 N Lake Blvd, Tahoe City, CA.
