Our connection to Take Care

In 1968, .a group of volunteers gathered artifacts and started a small museum in the city of South Lake Tahoe, In 1983, the museum moved from the Log Cabin into the former county library that was remodeled in 2009, giving it a fresh, new museum experience.

The museum is operated by volunteers with a Board of Directors elected by members of the Lake Tahoe Historical Society and supported by donations, memberships, and fundraisers. LTHS is a proud supporter of Take Care!

We welcome everyone to stop by and visit, and enjoy our seasonal Fireside Chats and History on the Baech!

Open on Saturdays 11 am – 3 pm starting the first Saturday in May, then Thursday-Saturday June-August, back to Saturdays only until Christmas. Closed in winter, but available for private tours. Please call.
