Desert Research Institute

Desert Research Institute is a proud participant in Take Care. Our citizen science program, Stories in the Snow, is a way for residents and visitors to grow their understanding and appreciation of the beauty of snow by taking pictures of fresh snow crystals.

Stories in the Snow involves taking pictures of freshly fallen snow crystals for science, and then sharing them with scientists. We use the Citizen Science Lake Tahoe mobile phone app. To get a kit or find out more, visit www.storiesinthesnow.org.
