Climate Action Plan Kick-Off Meeting
The City of South Lake Tahoe is developing its first Climate Action Plan (CAP). Our climate is changing, and in order for South Lake Tahoe to meet its aggressive emissions reduction goals, a long-term plan is necessary to outline strategies to reduce emissions.
In addition to reducing emissions, the strategies considered in the CAP can also provide community benefits by supporting local economic development, improving wildfire resilience, reducing air pollution, improving traffic conditions, and improving public health and quality of life.
The City is holding this kick-off meeting to inform residents, stakeholders and the general public about what a climate action plan is and why one is being developed. We will also be discussing the results of the greenhouse gas emissions inventory that was completed last year, reviewing the emissions reduction targets set by City Council in 2017, and explaining the process moving forward. There will be time for questions, and we look forward to any feedback or input that anyone may wish to provide.
We look forward to seeing you there!
There will be refreshments.
