Meeks Creek Trailhead

Enjoy nature's treasures along the meadows and trails!

As part of the 2018 Alpenglow Sports Mountain Festival, join Sarah Hockensmith of the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science for a morning wildflower identification hike in scenic Meeks Bay. TINS naturalist Sarah Hockensmith will lead the way as we enjoy nature’s treasures along the meadows and trails (~4.5 miles round trip) in search of early summer wildflowers and spectacular scenery.

The walk will be easy in difficulty, last 2-3 hours, and have negligible elevation gain. Please bring your favorite field guide to Lake Tahoe wildflowers, sturdy footwear, sunscreen, water, and snacks. Meet at the parking zone on CA Highway 89. Bring sunscreen, water, and a lunch.
