Hike Details:

TRTA invites families to join us on this guided snowshoe trek on Tahoe’s north shore. We will enjoy this hill-side trail through the Tahoe National Forest with spectacular views of Lake Tahoe and the mountains beyond while walking along a wide, level fire road. Learn about “Leave No Trace” as well as the names and locations of the highest mountain peaks that form the Lake Tahoe Basin. Watch for animal tracks along the trail and take in the beauty of the lake from an elevation of 7,179’. Bring lunch and enjoy a picnic spot along the trail to soak in the views of the lake through the trees.

What to Expect:

This hike is easy! TRTA hikes are group hikes, and we do our best to keep the group together. All TRTA guides are volunteers who dedicate a great deal of their time throughout the year sharing their passion for the trail and the outdoors. They are well-trained and experienced so please respect their decisions they make on the trail.

This guided hike may turn into a snowshoe trek, depending on the weather. All participants will be updated and offered snowshoes and poles to use during the outing.

In the case of inclement weather, event cancellation will be communicated via email by 5pm the day prior. Please ensure you have access to your email.
